Lots of award gibberish:
- Was reading Jeffrey Ford’s blog and Skinny Dipping in the Lake of the Dead by Alan DeNiro is the LitBlog Co-Op Spring 2007 Choice
- Wizards of the Coast starting a new imprint. Regard:
“Wizards of the Coast Discoveries will feature titles in a range of sub-genres including urban horror and literary fantasy; it will also publish both debut and established authors.”
That’s kind of dope!
- Cormac McCarthy wins the Pulitzer.
- Transcript of Michael Dirda’s chatting with Kurt Vonnegut at The Washington Post.
- Previews of the Dabel Brother’s comic adaptation of Erikson’s Gardens of the Moon and Martin’s Hedge Knight II.
- 2007 Science Fiction Hall of Fame Inductees.
- Steph Swainston has inked a deal to write two more Castle books. (I reviewed The Year of Our War and interviewed Steph when it was released). Steph has always been cool people and believe me, that isn’t always the case so congrats!
- RA Salvatore is bringing back Demon Wars in a big way with TOR! Hands down, RAS’s best work is in Corona.
- The Booker Nominees announced.
- The cover for book II (I reviewed the first book I here) of Catherynne M. Valente’s Orphan’s Tales In the Cities of Coin and Spice:

- Paul S. Kemp interviewed at WOTC.
- Seattlest interview with Jonathan Lethem.
- John C. Wright on Genre and Mainstream fiction.
- Saw this at the Mumpismus. This is an exchange of emails between Jonathan Lethem and Ray Davis about Lethem’s essay The Squandered Promise of Science Fiction.
I also find it quite disturbing that this is the first I have heard about Michael Cisco’s new Secret Hours:

Cisco’s The San Veneficio Canon kicked major ass.
