Last week or so I contacted Anna Tambour to gauge her interest in providing the poetry for Heliotrope’s forthcoming Winter issue (Helio4). I became a fan of Ms. Tambour’s work first from reading her novel Spotted Lily and then read her collection (where I read examples of her poetry) Monterra’s Deliciosa & Other Tales after seeing it referenced in an interview by fellow blogger JP .
Over the last week or so I have been swapping email with author Ms.Tambour, which usually means I’d have a hot interview for you folks but instead you are introduced to utter disappointment, a role reversal, me being prompted by the talent for a couple of questions concerning Heliotrope. It was not Ms. Tambour who was being gauged, it was I - and thankfully I passed as were able to add Ms. Tambour talents to our issue (as previously announced).
So for the first time ever, and we can only hope the last, we have a mini-interview of me that was really also a part of my - and Heliotrope’s - trial. I’m generally more guarded about the inner workings of the FBS Empire and our motivations if only to keep the illusions of a greater plan alive (and to hide that I’m quite boring).
I want to thank Ms.Tambour for the privilege and her support and enthusiasm for our fledgling project.
I went down fighting folks. She cornered me, and be thankful I passed out from the pain early - otherwise it would have been longer.
