Another first look for FBS readers! This is the first chapter to Matthew Hughes’ latest archonate novel, Template. As many know there are several authors who have been mixing mystery/crime with Science Fiction and many of it is written by terrific writers like Grimwood, Liz WIlliams, Charlie Huston among many others, but my favorite is probably Matthew Hughes right now. I really view his (unrelated) Henghis Hapthorne work along with Gregory Frost’s Shadow Bridge (reading Lord Tophet now) to be the really two standout projects of note recently.
At any rate this is scheduled to be released later this year and here’s a taste!

Me too! Hughes just writes good shit and with this and the new Henghis novels coming up later this year - that’s almost too good to believe.
