Bodhisattva Issue#0

I was going to do comics stuff at Illart, but the more I thought about (or rather the first time I thought about it - sometimes I skip that part as I travel the Azath) it doesn’t make sense not to do it here now that the Bodhisattva is part of the Bookspot fiefdom, plus its actually a knock the medium if I don’t and since I’m destined to edit Wizard one day and bring it back (or perhaps introduce to something other than) from mediocrity I don’t want to do that. So to honor my first post comic related and my future position (it could happen - Final Crisis is coming and I’m asking Morrison for a job on one of the 52 worlds), I’ll honor the past (and present) of that publication. No content, and a picture of a bombshell vixen:

It’s a low grade copy of a book I bought a couple of weeks ago. Timely (for non-comic fans) would eventually become Marvel. In truth I don’t really get too deep into Marvel (or Atlas, or Timely collecting) but it’s a low grade copy, with no restoration, that I think presents very well, so I nabbed it. That isn’t to say I can spit Marvel lore with the best of them, it’s just I find myself more gravitated to other Golden Age titles. Published in 1947, we had some buys kicking real ass all around the world when this comic was published and I’m always still surprised at how much energy a lot of the stuff Timely published have - check a Schomburg Captain America, Marvel Mystery or Young Allies cover and tell me you have seen Cap ever kicking more ass, or Torch ever seeming more weird and badass.

At any rate this post is just me and the Blonde (stop staring - and duck!) making our comic entrance here on the Bodhisattva (which is a bit of a stretch - but think of it like us renumbering and going back to issue#1). I’ve done some pretty sweet comics reviews already (and I’m quite the humble gent) but I think I’m going to finish up rounding out the VALIANT U. with some reviews soon along with reviews of some random stuff I pick up and just share some stuff I cop every now and then while still carrying on with my regular duties of being an SF/F personality warlord (and possibly an Elder - check your tiles).
