I’m not sure if this is new news or not (I don’t really do ‘the rounds’) but earlier this morning I was told that the Bantam version of Ian Cameron Esslemont’s Return of the Crimson Guard book will now be released on September 25th and I Just wanted to give a heads up to my fellow Malazan fans who didn’t cop the PS Publishing version and are anxiously awaiting Malazan goodness! As somebody who has read both this and Erikson’s Toll the Hounds, I’m telling you (for those who have avoided spoilers thus far) a lot of developments occur in these novels - and they are sweet!
For those who may not have read them, check out my interviews with both Erikson and Esslemont earlier this year to keep you going!
(edit)
I guess I should also mention that we have 10 copies of ROTCG available in one of our current contests!

Damn, that sucks. Do you know why they delayed it?
Would it be better to read Toll the Hounds first and then RotCG or should I read the latter first? Can’t puzzle it out.

Esslemont’s words (from my interview) :
“The events (ROTCG) occur just before Steve’s Toll the Hounds and relatively soon after The Bonhunters.”
I was told why in a very informal manner - nothing dramatic apparently just standard stuff that happens in the publishing.
