A look at what’s going on at the ‘bookspot in the last week!

-Exclusives:

- We have the first 3 chapters to Turnskin by Nicole Kimberling from Blind Eye books. I’ve been enjoying another one of their books, Wicked Gentlemen (we have the first 3 chapters of that as well) and hope to look into this when I have a chance as well.

- We have a complete story from the the Clockwork Phoenix anthology from Norilana Books.  We have Leah Bobet’s Bell, Book and Candle for you to sample from a group that includes the likes of Catherynne M. Valente, Cat Rambo, John C. Wright, Ekaterina Sedia  and more!

More exclusives coming soon! Maybe even today…

-Reviews:

- Val reviews Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. Check out my own review here at the Bod! Val also get his Nightshade on reviewing Pump Six and other stories, a collection by Paolo Bacigalupi.

- Trin (who has been anointed Seas Goddess of FBS) reviews a book by one of my favorite writers as she takes a look at Jeffrey Ford’s The Shadow Year.

“The characters have that feeling of authenticity that makes them instantly recognizable, and the story has that feeling of nostalgia without any of the sugary sentimentality”

- Damon jumps on a bandwagon and reviews The Art of Dreamworks: Kung Fu Panda

“As with most DreamWorks movies there is so much underneath the surface of what the audience sees at first glance, this book is like your guide to unraveling all those hidden treasures.”

-Contests:

- This week I announced an opportunity for 5 ‘bookspot citizens in good standing to win a copy of Project Moonbase by Robert Heinlein. This is published by Subterranean who just makes some damn fine books. You can enter here to win here!

Also, don’t forget people, there is still time to enter to win on of TEN copies of Ian Cameron Esslemont’s Return of the Crimson Guard - ENTER HERE!

I’ve got some more sweet stuff already lined up in the future!

-The Basics:

Only the ‘bookspot looks out for you in all facets of reading as you can see by this announcement by Damon. Yes, we care about your H2O intake and Damon’s going to take a look at the Kor One Hydration Vessel. Drink Water, read books, visit the ‘bookspot - throw in occasional moments of lust, and a new Madden every year, and you’re pretty much set.
