Okay another chance to read some short fiction for you! What we have here is Steve Berman’s Tearjerker.  It was originally published in the Paper Cities anthology edited by Ekaterina Sedia and will also be included in Berman’s forthcoming Second Thoughts.

Berman has been a Andre Norton Award Finalist and had a story in Japanese Dreams - which I have not read yet actually - published by Prime and you can see some work of his at Strange Horizons as well.
