The Bodhisattva

Just wanted to apologize , I’ve been spending the most of my time on the new site and getting it set-up, I have several excerpts, contests and a couple of reviews and an interview ready to go that will go up soon but at the moment we are focusing on getting the new platform up.

It’s not a deal where we are able to automatically send all our material to the new site it was all done manually and in the process I have been cleaning it all up and editing the material as I shift each piece over one at a time! It is also not a deal where we simply had access to the code of somebody else’s design, it actually had to be built, and we had new art commissioned to go on the site and the artist is really troopn’ in a small window of time as is another programmer who could have been leading fast breaks in the 80’s in the city of angels as nice as he is on the assist. Damon has been busting ass…oh, wait a minute - no he isn’t, he’s on vacation again and now (since the Tomio-contribution is done) officially on Dave-watch. If the dude isn’t getting injured or sick he’s on vacation.  Well, it’s better than having a site operated by a bunch of poor bastards I guess.

You couple that with the (simultaneous) time involved and the logistics of us setting up and making a  move that insures our pockets for the next two years and you have quite a bit of work and dialogue crammed in the last couple of months and that’s not even mentioning the redesign of Heliotrope that’s going to be done before our next big issue, or our simple day-to-day operations that gets muddled a bit as though our old site is still up we are very much thinking in-between sites now.

That said, I think there is a sigh of relief in all of that, as we are going to be able to showcase our content and contributors more with the new site, take that next step. and with that have made business moves to expand our flow that not only keep us around in an all new house (again, moving on up, Jeffersons’ style!) but increase our ability to add more as we move on and see fit.

So will be back with stuff like Forgotten Fridays when this is behind us which I want to say is going to be sooner rather than later, but I get the feeling I’ve been getting softened to be told it will be later (which will be infuriating)- but we will see!

There has been some damn sweet looking stuff coming out from publishers lately though!
