The Bodhisattva is the personal blog of Jay Tomio, the co-owner of BookSpotCentral.com (formerly Fantasybookspot.com) a review/interview site dedicated to Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Comic Book/Graphic Novels, as well as a community forum for fans of these genres to get together and discuss their favorite books. I have interviewed numerous bestselling, critically acclaimed and rising new authors in the fields of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Comics. FBS now also receives DVD’s to review from studios as well as having the gracious patronage of the majority of the major and small press book publishers in the English speaking world. Recently we have begun hosting exclusive excerpts from forthcoming novels at our site from publishers that include Random House, Tor, Orbit, Pan Macmillan, Night Shade Books, Del Rey, PS Publishing, Golden Gryphon Press, Soft Skull Press, Bantam, Blind Eye Books, Norilana Books, Gollancz and more!

This blog is for me to relay news, offer looser reviews and random commentary on the same subjects and beyond. If any author or publisher would like to send review galleys for me to review either here or at FBS please contact me at Heliotropeditor@gmail.com. It is likely I already have the book or can get it via my own channels - so if you have something that you think deserves special attention amidst the pile, drop me a line. I do not review self-published material as it pertains to novels - though I welcome comics or graphic novels that are independently produced.

Currently I am editing Heliotrope Magazine that features articles, reviews, and short fiction - for more details - click here - to read about submission guidelines, pay rates and advertising information. We have our first four issues out, and our fifth is scheduled for Fall 2008. We pay professional rates and have been blessed by contributors that include critically acclaimed, award winning writers such as Jeff VanderMeer, R. Scott Bakker, Michael Moorcock, Jeffrey Ford, Theodora Goss, Sonya Taaffe, Catherynne M. Valente, Ian R. MacLeod, and Anna Tambour among others. Our fourth issue will be out this fall and included on that contributors lists are the likes of Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore.

You can read the interviews I have conducted here, and my reviews here.

Thanks,

Jay Tomio
