Ultimate Avengers: The Movie

Based on the Ultimates series by Marvel this movie contains sub-par animation. Basically, if you hated the animation last few episodes of the Xmen animated series on Fox, you won't like it here. While it isn't that bad, I think Marvel should have coughed a little more cash if they had wanted to make an excellent movie.

Which it is; it's quite excellent actually. The voice work is spot on, the story stays true to the comic books, the character designs are great, and character developement is handled well. Granted we don't see a whole lot into the personal lives of the Avengers, but that's saying much since this is sleighted to have sequels.

The one thing this movie didn't have is a sense of trying to push some moral principle, or political view, or sales ad or what have you. You always get that sort of thing with Saturday morning cartoons. This movie is definately more adult oriented, not in the gory, profanity infested manner that people usually associate with the word adult, but more along the lines that things arn't sugar coated. There's violence, violence happens; there's a lack of one-liners, thank God; and things are kept as realistic as feasibly possible within the context.

Overall I think this is definately a DVD worth having.

Cheers!
